It's common for some to feel superior to others based on their own righteousness or holiness.
But the truth is, in the eyes of God we are all equal - no matter our background or actions.
Many pass judgement, viewing those who smoke, drink or sin differently as people God dislikes or is angry with.
However, the reality is we all fall short and we are all dearly loved children of God just the same.
None of us is purer or more favored than another. God does not show partiality or look down on any of his creations.
We all make mistakes and will continue to stray at times, but God's mercy and grace are abundant for all.
Rather than judging or condemning others, we must embrace our shared humanity.
Who are we to deem ourselves holier when we too are flawed? We would do well to show compassion to those struggling as we wish to be comforted in our own weaknesses.
The path of righteousness is difficult for everyone in different ways. So let humility and understanding guide our interactions, not a misplaced sense of moral superiority.
When we focus on uplifting one another, the divided barriers between us fade.
In God's eyes, there is no "us" and "them" - only us. May this realization of our shared equal standing cultivate kindness, acceptance and love for one another in all our diversity.
Our worth is defined not by earthly works but by God's unconditional grace.
